Reviving Jordanian Wool through Sustainable, Handwoven Products
Badiya Wool began in 2019 when Basma identified the immense waste of Jordanian wool and began collecting it from shepherds in the Northeastern Badiya. Partnering with local weavers, she created Jordan's first market-ready yarn. When Adela joined, bringing her creativity and passion for wool, they expanded their vision, developing collections of handwoven rugs and home accessories, re-imagining the potential of Badiya wool together.
Rooted in Bedouin tradition and driven by social change, Badiya Wool revives the age-old art of weaving with pure, raw Jordanian wool and natural plant dyes. Before the wool becomes a thread, it passes through many hands—shearing, spinning, dyeing, and weaving—each touch adding its own story, preserving the traditional crafts of the Badiya. At its heart, Badiya Wool is a community where artisans, shepherds, and weavers unite to preserve Bedouin traditions, sustain livelihoods, and transform overlooked resources into sustainable, handwoven wool products that redefine the value of wool.
