Reviving Jordanian Wool

Badiya Wool rebuilt Jordan’s disrupted wool supply chain, bringing locally sourced wool to both local and global markets while creating resilient systems with communities across the country.

Founded in 2019, the project began when Basma collected wasted wool from shepherds in the Northeastern Badiya and, with local weavers, created Jordan’s first market-ready yarn. With Adela’s creativity, the vision grew into collections of handwoven rugs and home accessories.

Rooted in Bedouin tradition, Badiya Wool revives the art of weaving with pure Jordanian wool and natural plant dyes. Each stage—shearing, spinning, dyeing, weaving—adds its own story, uniting artisans, shepherds, and weavers to sustain livelihoods and transform overlooked resources into sustainable, handwoven products.
