Badiya Wool comes from all over the Jordanian Badiya, with focus on the desert areas like Northern Eastern Badiya and Wadi Araba region in the Southern Badiya.
Awassi Sheep, widely spread in the west of Asia, especially in the Arabian Desert. Their main purpose is for dairy products and meat. However the Awassi breed wool is considered as part of the 41% sheep wool produced worldwide.
We consider Badiya Wool the first in Jordan because we rebuilt the local wool supply chain at a time when the entire value chain had been disrupted by regional unrest. We were the first to bring locally sourced wool to both local and global markets, making it accessible to anyone who wishes to obtain it while building resilient systems with communities across the country.
